It’s our great privilege to guide you through the Holy Land.

Our Bible Study Tour is hosted and taught by our Lead Pastor, John Hessler.

We are thrilled to announce that we will be lead through Israel by our loved friend and Israeli guide, Jane.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I plan to dress while on the tour?

Since our tour will be in October, you can expect a mix of warm & cool weather with minimal potential for some rain. That said, temperatures can vary greatly due to Israel’s unique geography and drastically changing elevations throughout the country. The best advice we can give it to travel in layers and carry a day pack with you each day. You may experience cool mornings and evenings and hot afternoons. Some areas of the country are very arid while others are wet or humid. Be prepared for everything!

Casual attire is acceptable throughout the whole tour. A few sites require modest dress (no exposed shoulders or legs) but most sites allow shorts.

Bring comfortable footwear that will support your ankles and provide enough comfort for long walks on hard pavement and uneven surfaces.

How can I stay in contact with my friends and family while I travel in Israel?

We suggest that you talk to your cellphone service provider to determine what fees you may charged while using call, text and cell data while in Israel.

Some people prefer to use their cell phones in Israel and pay for international coverage with their service provider.

If you would like to use your phone lightly and avoid fees, you can put your device on “Airplane Mode” for the entire trip and only turn on your WiFi, allowing you to send email and use messaging apps and social media without using standard text or call features. If you want to do this, we suggest coordinating in advance your plan and apps with the friends/family you intend to communicate with while in Israel.

Each of our hotels will provide free WiFi internet service in your room.? Our tour bus also has WiFi service (but it is very slow).

Can I bring a camera?

Yes! Please do!!

Some sites might ask for no photos to be taken but almost all sites allow you to take all the pictures you want.

Please keep in mind that we are on a tight schedule and it is important to move quickly and pay attention to the prompting of our guide and tour leaders.

Can I plug in my electronics?

In the USA, we use a 120v electrical service. In Israel, they use 230v.

Typically, your electric shavers, hairdryers/straighteners, etc. will not work in Israel. Some devices are able to switch voltage but most aren’t. We recommend leaving those things at home or buying special ones that will take 230v. Each hotel will provide a hairdryer in your room.

Your phones, tablets, and laptops will likely work in Israel. We recommend checking your power adaptors to make sure they can work with 230v (most do).

In most cases, people do not need power converters (converting 230v to 120v). Everyone will need power adaptors. These are very inexpensive adaptors that change your USA plug end shape into the plug shape in Israel.

What should I do about my spending money?

Feel free to bring cash or use your debit card to take out Israeli currency (shekels) once you’re in Israel. Credit cards are also able to be used at most stores when shopping in Israel. In a few spots, we will suggest that you use only cash.

If you bring dollars in cash, we will help you find places to exchange your dollars for shekels while on tour.

Breakfasts and dinners are provided by the tour but we recommend bringing money to buy your own lunch, snacks, bottles of water, extra tips, and any mementos from the trip.

What about Jet Lag?

Israel is 7 hours ahead of us. Most people will feel weary from all the travel (busses and plane) to get to Israel. Expect to feel tired at first but keep moving! We will fly overnight, so take advantage of the long flight and try to sleep as much as possible. Once we land in the morning, do your best to eat healthily and stay hydrated while you keep yourself awake all day and get a good night’s rest our first night in Israel.

Some people handle travel and time changes better than others. Do you best to stay healthy, positive and rest on schedule with Israel’s time zone so you adjust quickly to the time difference.
